EVENT

AIRdabada

Behind the Wall/Staircase & Meeting

The staircase beyond the wall belongs neither to the first floor nor to the second. Without using this place that is neither one nor the other, it is impossible to go up or down. If passage were possible, what would be exercised there would be only the “power” to build the staircase, and the “destruction” to create another entrance.

EXHIBITION

YAMAMOTOdabada

Nobuyuki Yamamoto’s paintings dispense with conventional supports such as canvas or paper. Instead, they are created by physically removing the paint from its support. This process draws on the Renaissance tempera technique, in which paint occupies a dual status—both surface and support. Through this approach, Yamamoto seeks to “reconstruct the relationship between the surface and the meaning of painting,” offering a new perspective that challenges the traditional hierarchy of the medium.
